Centro Cultural Mexicano opposes the institutional racism that continues to oppress our black and brown communities. It is wrong that a few in positions of power are given the right to unjustly terminate the life of a human being. Our political leaders that have been elected to represent us, and the leaders of our public institutions, have not honored the responsibility that the position requires of them.
This is the moment to raise our voices loud and clear in support of our constitutional rights, civil rights, and human rights. This is the time that we can show our civic power to remove those from office who do not fulfill the commitment for which they were elected. The next elections are around the corner, and we can decide who is going to be at the forefront of serving and respecting our communities of color.
We are in solidarity with our Black brothers and sisters and we condemn the continuing acts of violence against them.
This is a time to come together in solidarity and unity!
